Calcarea's experience with the Captain's Table pitch competition was exceptional.  We benefited from the workshop material leading up to the event and the extensive networking facilitated by the team during Hong Kong Maritime Week.  Our pitch got exponentially better with the great coaching from all involved. 

My experience with The Captain’s Table was truly incredible. I had the opportunity to refine and strengthen our message thanks to coaching from experts deeply rooted in the maritime industry. Throughout the program, I gained valuable insights into the industry landscape, investment environment, and current challenges. The event in Hong Kong offered remarkable global exposure, and I’m hopeful it will open doors for future projects across Asia.

The Captain’s Table has been an exceptional accelerator and enabler for 13 Mari’s business. The forum provided access to the key industry contacts to further validate our product assumptions, attract investment and secure first clients. As a competition winner, it is also a great privilege to have the support of Lloyd’s Register and HFW.

Participating in the Captain’s Table was an incredible experience. It was a unique opportunity for us to present 123Carbon in front of a large live audience of experienced Marine experts and get valuable and honest feedback. For one week, supported by a great team, we focused relentlessly on the core values of our company and the impact it needs to have on the bottom-line performance of our customers. During and after the finals, the Captain’s Table provided us easy access to a high-level network and allowed us to expand our reach to the APAC region with new customers and partners.

The Captain’s Table has proven itself to be one of the (very) few independent, unbiased industry powerhouses for any start up to enter. The shipping industry is often seen as sluggish and slow to adopt – and that is probably personified by an inability for start-up’s both focused in maritime and outside of maritime to have a trusted platform to showcase their solutions. The Captain’s Table allows just that – a safe, professional space for start ups of all shapes and sizes to present their solutions to a packed room of industry experts without feeling like there’s a risk of being misunderstood.I would highly recommend any start up (irrespective of your financial journey; bootstrapped, VC funded etc) to apply.
